Rectal or anal bleeding can be alarming for many people. Two problems are usually responsible for blood on the paper, on the stool or in the toilet. Rectal bleeding may be a sign of presence of hemorrhoids, fissures, polyps, and infection. Choose a diet high in fiber, up to 25 to 35 grams per day, with adequate fluids to support healthy bowel function and avoid further rectal bleeds. Anal skin tags will often accompany these symptoms.
Eat Fruits and Vegetables:-
After a rectal bleed, regularly incorporate nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables in your diet for a variety of vitamins, minerals and fiber. As recommended by the American Heart Association, aim for four to five servings of each on a 2,000-calorie diet.
High Fibre Diet is Key:-
Relieve constipation by beefing up your intake of fruits and vegetables and minimizing meat and junk food intake. Taking foods that are easier to digest will help improve your condition. Most rectal bleeding is caused by poor bowel movements, making the passage of stool difficult. That’s why the most natural, most effective line of treatment for such a condition is a high fiber diet.
Hold the White Bread:-
White flour products in our diet with whole-grain sources are an easy way to add fiber to your diet after a rectal bleed. Skin tags on anus many times are a result of rubbing skin which can happen because of poor diet. One-half cup of pasta, one slice of bread or 1 cup of shredded wheat cereal is good whole-grain choices.
Soak in warm water or a sitz bath:-
Reduce irritation, ease pain, and help shrink the veins, soak the hemorrhoids for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day in warm, not hot, water. It can reduce irritation, spasms of the rectal muscle, and itching.
Reduce pressure on the hemorrhoids:-
Eat a high-fiber diet to soften your stools and reduce constipation. Try to eat fruits, vegetables, and whole grains or take supplements aim for 25 grams a day for women or 38 grams for men of total fiber. Drink plenty of fluids and establish regular bowel habits and especially avoid straining when having a bowel movement.
Take supplements to reduce bleeding:-
Always take good supplements. Prevent clots, and improve blood viscosity. All of these things can reduce the swelling of tissues that cause hemorrhoids. The high-fiber diet, plenty of fluid intakes is encouraged following a rectal bleed. Take water consumption will soften stools and prevent constipation. A dermatologist will be able to give great advice on the subject as well.
Another remedy is making a thick paste of castor oil and baking soda mixed together and applying it on the skin tag several times a day. You can also soak in warm bath for about 20 minutes, pat dry the skin tag and apply apple cider vinegar with a cotton swab. Applying tea tree oil is also quite effective. For that, drink lots of water everyday, eat lots of raw vegetables, fruits, and green leafy vegetables. Avoid fried, junk, oily, and spicy food as they cause constipation.
